are affected by arthritis at some point in their life. Being overweight is one of the largest risks for developing early arthritis.
Slowing down
can be caused by more than just arthritis. Heart disease, thyroid and inner organ issues can cause "aging" in pets. Prompt diagnosis is important to ensure that the proper disease is treated. Furthermore, many treatments for arthritis can damage their kidneys or liver, leading to fatal organ failure.
Quality of life
depends on properly tailored treatment plans. Prompt diagnosis by a veterinary clinic that is up-to date on the latest recommendations and treatments, slows the development of sensitization, AKA "Wind-up". Pain management is more than just giving NSAIDs and needs to be tailored and adjusted as they age.
Over the counter pain medications and treating at home can cause fatal side-effects. Please book an appointment before attempting any treatment!
